Overview of classes

Becoming A Family Series (eight classes)

Childbirth Education is provided by certified instructors. A maximum of 7 couples are registered in each class.

  • Labour and birth preparation

  • Relaxation and breathing skills

  • Breastfeeding

  • Care of the newborn

  • Postnatal Topics

Weekend Workshop (10 hours)

  • Focused birth preparation

  • Breastfeeding information included

The Art of Birthing Series (eight classes)

  • Parents learn through interactive, creative participation

  • All topics from Becoming a Family Series covered

  • The instructors for this series have taken a level one workshop with Pam England, author of the book "Birthing from Within".

 Doula Services

The expectant woman and her partner may choose to have extra support during labour. A doula provides emotional and physical support to the woman and her partner throughout labour. Through the use of comfort measures, encouragement and information, a doula assists the woman and her partner in achieving their birth goals.

Lactation consultants & Postpartum doulas

A lactation consultant or postpartum doula can provide information and assistance in your home during the postnatal period.

  • Easing the postnatal transition

  • Breastfeeding guidance

  • Enhancing confidence with newborn care
